This camera is called the Sony HDR-SR12. I use it for all of my bigger productions. It shoots in HD but you have the option for lower quality too. It comes equipped with night vision, a built in zoom mic, optional add ons, touch screen, and 120 GB of filming memory. I have yet to fill it all up with footage and I've had this camera for over a year now. It also has the options to take photographs, which is more crisp then standard digital cameras. I've actually stopped using my Digital Camera, for pictures and I just take pictures with this. It has the option of a flash as well. The only flaw I can think of is, it doesn't include a filming light. However there is a button on the front that increases light in low light conditions. It also includes a manual focus knob in the front so you can focus the camera but twisting the knob. All around this is a fantastic video camera. I highly recommend it. 

For all of the special effects and standard chroma keying and everything else. I use Adobe After Effects CS4










As for editing the movie itself as a whole, I use imovie. 


I do however prefer multitrack editing, but Final cut takes too long with rendering, I like to be able to work fast, make cuts, edit the footage etc. 


On the PC I used Magix Movie Edit Pro 14 Plus. Which is a fantastic editing suite for beginners and pros. It's very simple to understand and at the same time very advanced for editing. I just wish they came out with a MAC version :(
